为什么使用除磷剂时需要添加石灰?
我们这里所说的除磷剂是一种新型高分子污水处理材料。这种除磷剂一般投加于生化尾水后，在含磷废水中发挥电中和及多核络合等多种作用。在造纸废水、尾矿废水、印染及皮革废水、线路板废水及电镀废水等的除磷处理中都具有很强的去除率。
除磷剂在实际使用中，可单独使用除磷剂，将普通型除磷剂溶解为10%～20%的水溶液（如果使用增强型时则用量可减少20%）。根据生化尾水出水中所含根含量投加100～1000ppm。其对盐的去除率可达99.7%。

在实际使用中，我们不难发现，投加除磷剂时会投加石灰一起使用。那么，为什么使用除磷剂时需要添加石灰呢？这是由于除磷剂自身为酸性药剂，其pH值为1～3，使用时会降低废水中的碱度。而石灰属于强碱性化学药剂，其pH值为10～13%，具有提碱中和作用。
石灰自身具有一定的除磷作用，它可与污水中的根反应生成钙沉淀，在消耗污水中的酸性物质，为后续污水处理提供更好的条件的同时，提高根的去除率，减少除磷剂用量，节约污水处理成本。
